Midwifery care happens in your home; includes prenatal, labor and birth, 6 weeks postpartum, and newborn care. A large focus of midwifery care is relationship building. You deserve to trust in your care provider, as well as feel respected throughout your care.
Care with Little Hollow Midwifery is client-centered, so you feel confident and supported before, during, and after birth.
Prenatal Care
Prenatal comprehensive care happens in your home. Each appointment lasts anywhere from 45 minutes to an hour. During your appointment, we talk about any questions you or your family members may have regarding your pregnancy, as well as discuss any upcoming tests or procedures. Care with Little Hollow is collaborative, which means you are the final decision maker to anything regarding your care. My goal as your midwife is to provide education and support to help empower you make the best decisions for your body and your care.
Schedule of care: prenatal appointments are every 4 weeks until 28 weeks gestation, then every 2 weeks until 36 weeks gestation, and then weekly until you have a baby.
All lab work can be done in your home as well, and usually happens at our initial visit, 28 weeks, and 36 weeks.
At 37 weeks, I go on call for you and will be available to you 24/7.
Home Birth Care
We will be in close communication when your labor begins via phone or text. Once you are in active labor, I will join you in your home or we will decide to meet at your chosen birth center. I will monitor both your and your baby’s well being during labor by taking your vitals and listening to your baby’s heart rate with a doppler regularly. I bring quite a lot of equipment with me, including emergency equipment if needed. As you become closer to birthing your baby, I will call in an assist to have two trained sets of hands ready to provide support where necessary. I can be as hands on or hands off at your birth as you need and do my best to read the energy of what you may be needing during labor for support. Most births at home or out of the hospital are calm and quiet, and my goal is to honor you and your family during this sacred transition.
After baby arrives, I stay anywhere between 2-4 hours to monitor both you and your baby’s transition. I perform a full newborn exam and administer any medications you have chosen for your baby. Once I have cleaned your space, and make sure you feel confident latching your baby, I make my departure so you can get a good nap.
Postpartum & Newborn Care
Postpartum midwifery care is probably my favorite time in my client’s care. Postpartum visits are an hour long. During your visits we cover education and support regarding your healing, chest feeding, and baby milestones and expectations. We talk through any questions or concerns you have, and I provide any resources that you may need as they come up.
Schedule of care: your first postpartum appointment happens between 24-48 hours, then between day 5-7, 2 weeks, 4 weeks, and 6 weeks postpartum.

Fees for midwifery services
The global fee for midwifery services with Little Hollow is $4,800. This fee includes prenatal, labor and birth, postpartum and newborn care. It also includes labs, and medications needed during care. It does not include ultrasounds.
